Fear NOT!

Proverbs 29:25 “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” (Man will mislead you. God will bring you home!)

I think our entire nation is on pins and needles. The world as well, for where the USA goes, so goes the world. As our election nears everyone is fearful of our future regardless of the party each person backs or the people you believe will save us. I am here to remind you ONLY GOD can save us. No man can save us. I believe either way the election goes we have entered judgment for our many sins and apostasy. We certainly have become degenerates like the humans described in Genesis 6.

Genesis 6:5-8 “The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds, and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.”

Genesis 6:5-7, to me, are the saddest 3 verses in the Bible. But the last verse above, Genesis 6:8, gives us a future and hope! Humans had become so evil with selfish intentions of fulfilling every immoral whim and desire (ignoring the God-taught morals and biblical values), that God REGRETTED creating us! With human trafficking, the Internet addicting people to porn at alarming rates, drugs, sexual perversions, bodily mutilation, people believing in many genders, alcohol, gambling, etc. humans have definitely been decisively diverted from godly pursuits, beliefs and thoughts by Satan. We have been divided from each other, so the “take-over” was/is much easier. However, even in the midst of Genesis 6, God found favor with Noah and saved humanity. That means we know He truly loves us and will save us now if we follow His commands.

Our hope and faith lie in the Lord. Where there is faith, fear cannot reside. We can believe His Word because the past predictions and prophecies have proven to be true. Carefully read Luke 21 below:

Luke 21:5-19 “Some of his disciples were remarking about how the temple was adorned with beautiful stones and with gifts dedicated to God. But Jesus said, “As for what you see here, the time will come when not one stone will be left on another; every one of them will be thrown down.” “Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”

He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.  When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.” Then He said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.”

“But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. And so you will bear testimony to me. But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.  For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.

As you reflect on Jesus’s words, think about how these events have occurred and how Jesus said they are a SIGN, but the end has not yet come. In Luke 21, Jesus also gives us direction by telling us how to act. Stand firm in your faith and you will win life! Isn’t that the end goal of Christians? Winning eternal life. If your faith is strong and you stand on the Word of God, then no matter what happens over the next few days, weeks, months, and years, then you will serve others to the best of your ability and you will not FEAR your/our future.

Jesus knew we would be afraid so He specifically said “DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED” twice in Luke 21: 5-19. It is a theme we find throughout the Bible. Old Testament: New Testament, it doesn’t matter. We are told not to fear.

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Psalm 34:4 “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.”

Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

As we enter a time of turbulence and division, keep your Bible close! Read His Words of warning and encouragement, taking comfort in the fact there is no need to fear the future because it must come in order for the prophecy to be fulfilled and ensure us of our eternal salvation. Be wise. Be awake and aware. Be vigilant and stay close to God. Man is definitely a snare. ALL men. God is the only way home… Love, hugs, and blessings, Lisa ><>
