Don’t Let Man or Emotions Lead You to Sin
I will get right to the point tonight. I am seldom speechless, but what I saw last night rendered me so and put me in deep mourning for the souls of people who consider themselves Christians, but…might be grieving the Holy Spirit. It is a very bad idea. Look it up in the Bible. It is listed as the only unpardonable sin. Think before you repeat what is being fed to you. Many don’t care about your soul, but I do and God does!
This sermon is a reaction to a pitiful, malicious, defilement of the Lord’s Prayer. Jesus gave this prayer to His sheep as an answer to their question “How do we pray.” He said this with purpose, making it meaningful and simple since most people were illiterate during ancient times. Matthew 6:5-15:
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like PAGANS, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed (honored/respected) be your name, your kingdom come, you will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” “For thine is the Kingdom, power and glory, forever and ever. Amen”
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Lord’s Prayer taught by Jesus)
What I witnessed last night was a person sharing what they saw on social media, which was the lord’s prayer contaminated by making it about Trump and the Maga people. It was disgusting and a horrendous misuse of the teaching that Jesus gave us with the beautiful prayer above. The person who repeated it is a good person, but upset with the election results and therefore put no thought into how God would feel about His prayer being desecrated, dishonored, and besmirched! THINK PEOPLE; THINK!!!
I don’t care about your political views. It is honoring God with your words and actions that is my concern. If you read the Lord’s Prayer, this polluted version is the opposite of what He tells us to do. Obviously, some people feel disrespected because the majority of Americans would like our country to move in a different direction than the last 4 years. Even if you feel disrespected, violating God’s honored and treasured words is NOT the way to deal with this. God tells us we MUST forgive!
Refusing to forgive has a huge penalty and is not worth it to you, your mind, body, and soul, or to the damage it can do to your relationship with God. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow His commands regardless of your emotional state of mind.
The Lord’s Prayer states “We will be forgiven as we forgive others” which certainly keeps me in check. Every night as I repeat this prayer before I start my more personal prayer, I think about what it means to forgive. Forgiving is a requirement, not a choice.
To be perfectly clear, I am not saying one person’s vote actually disrespected another person, but if YOU feel it did, then you need to forgive and move on. God is paying attention to your heart (darkness or light) and He is watching each of us. On judgment day, we will stand alone and naked in front of Jesus with no one to blame for our words and actions but ourselves. The Bible tells us if we are TRULY in Jesus and He in us, then our actions will reflect that.
I cannot sit idly by and let people corrupt their relationship with the Lord over political or other views. I want Jesus’s blood to cover your sins and only He will decide that on that fateful judgment day when changing is too late. Remember Jesus says:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 21:21-23)
Do not take His words lightly for they are PROMISES from One who does not lie! Do not let ignorant people lead you away from reading His Word, believing His Word, and doing what He requires. He means what He says!
I have warned you over and over. Making any statement about “worldly issues” is not worth the eternal pain it might cause, so as Jesus says over and over in the Bible “BEWARE.” Beware of people leading you down the wrong path. Beware of the log in your eye (for many are blinded and deaf to His truths) and beware that you never grieve the Holy Spirit. Ignorance is no excuse. Amen. Love, Hugs, and Blessings, Lisa ><>
