Jesus Can Heal YOUR Blindness
It’s amazing to me that I am writing the last sermon of 2025. It is true that the older you get, the faster time seems to go by... Although only God can slow down or speed up time (biblical) it feels like life in general, depending on your age and activity levels, causes it to “feel” as though it is faster or slower. That brings me to my sermon, and that is that God is able to heal people and perform amazing miracles, but our participation makes a difference in the outcome. Step one is ADMITTING you are blind…then letting God lead you to full discernment and sight.
Mark 3:10 “for He had healed many, with the result that all those who had afflictions pressed around Him in order to touch Him.” (Faith and trust)
Acts 9:34 “Peter said to him, 'Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you; get up and make your bed.” Immediately, he got up. (Aeneas was required to GET UP and start living again)
Matthew 9:21 “or she was saying to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.” (Faith)
Luke 6:19 “And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all.” (Faith, hope, action…)
John 5:11 “But he answered them, 'He who made me well was the one who said to me, ‘Pick up your pallet and walk.’” (Required to quit lying around begging and get up and do something)
Matthew 9:28-30 “When He had gone indoors, the blind men came to Him, and He asked them, 'Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied. Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith, let it be done to you,” and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” (Healing was based on faith and acknowledgment of Jesus as God)
Mark 5:30-34 “At once, Jesus realized that power had gone out from Him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, (with the bleeding issue) knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told Him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (faith followed by action, then, despite fear of ramifications told Jesus the TRUTH)
I have listed a few of MANY scriptures where Jesus healed people, each healing required faith, and then some type of action afterwards that would change them into productive/successful humans and resulted in a testimony for Christ. We can be healed, but it requires us to STEP FORWARD, ADMIT GOD CAN HEAL US, THEN FOLLOW THROUGH WITH LIVING A PRODUCTIVE LIFE SERVING HUMANITY AND HIS KINGDOM!!
In this sermon, I titled it “Jesus Can Heal YOUR Blindness” on purpose. MANY, MANY people have been BLINDLY deceived into thinking abortion is just fine, living off the efforts of others without working is acceptable, and that lying, cheating, fornication, and other sexual atrocities, plus a multitude of other sins, are in sync with God. This BLINDNESS to The Truth is causing faith to be weak, healing to be stifled, and eternal salvation to be blocked. God WARNS us that many will be blind.
Spiritual Blindness:
Spiritual blindness is a recurring theme in the Bible, representing a lack of understanding of God’s truth. Key points include:
Metaphorical Meaning: Blindness often symbolizes spiritual ignorance or the inability to see God’s truth. For instance, in Matthew 15:14, Jesus warns that "if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit,” highlighting the dangers of spiritual leaders who lack leadership and insight.
Call to Awareness: The Bible encourages believers to seek spiritual clarity. In John 8:12, Jesus declares, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life," emphasizing the importance of following Him to gain spiritual sight.
Healing of Spiritual Blindness: The New Testament often links faith with the restoration of spiritual sight. In 2 Corinthians 4:4, it states that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers," indicating that spiritual blindness can prevent individuals from recognizing the truth of the gospel. (By following secular ways, believers can be completely blinded to God’s truth)
In Summary:
The Bible presents blindness as both a physical condition and a spiritual metaphor. It illustrates God's compassion for those who suffer from physical blindness and emphasizes the importance of spiritual insight and understanding. Through faith in Jesus, believers are encouraged to seek THE light that dispels darkness, both in their lives and in the world around them. The teachings and miracles of Jesus serve as a reminder of the hope and healing available to all, regardless of their physical or spiritual state.
Each and every one of us suffers from spiritual blindness at some point in our lives. It is created at the intersection where our FEELINGS and BELIEFS disagree with what God teaches us, and we CHOOSE TO FOLLOW OURSELVES! This is folly and very dangerous to seeing the truth through God’s eyes, following His example and teachings, while disrespecting His sacrifice for our souls. In this crazy world of “smoke and mirrors” coupled with social/personal values being tested each and every day, allowing God to cure our blindness is paramount to our health, happiness, peace, and success.
When God said, “Let there be light,” I believe He was speaking both physically on the earth and spiritually in our souls. If you think you are seeing clearly, then you need to compare YOUR VALUE SYSTEM and FEELINGS/BEHAVIORS to what God commands and His precepts.
Isiah 35:5 “Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.”
I highly suggest you read Isiah 35:1-5 so you can fully understand the redemption of God and HOW He will eventually ensure eyes and ears are opened to THE (one and only) TRUTH!
Amen. Have a prosperous, happy, and blessed 2026. Love, blessings, and prayers for discernment, Lisa<>
