Repay Evil with Goodness

Repaying evil with goodness is a biblical principle and teaching that is targeting the very heart of our souls. God wants us to be filled with love and kindness. If we become filled with hate and vengeance, regardless of the circumstances, then our soul becomes tainted. That is why God tells us to look upon Him for our strength during desperate times and to focus on His Word, meditating on it day and night.

Joshua 1:8 – “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” (Successful meaning your heart and soul will stay right(eous) to the Lord)

True Christians do not celebrate or find joy in that which is evil, but seek to do good when their heart have been tattered. In this way, we keep our souls cleansed and ready to be received by our mighty Lord! We are not of this world and need to remember that!

Proverbs 20:22 – “Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and He will avenge you.”

Romans 12:17-21 – “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’ To the contrary, if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Kindness is the most effective weapon against evil. It changes your heart and the hearts of others)

1 Peter 3:9 – “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.” (Not only do you inherit the blessing, you ARE a blessing!)

Here are my Facebook postings this week. Each one different with the same theme. Keep your eyes on God and NEVER become like this world, for the leader of this world is Satan! Look to God when your heart is shattered, and He will give you comfort and strength to be kind and loving when the unthinkable happens.

September 10, 2025: “I am so outraged and mourning at the same time at the MURDER of Charlie Kirk. An upstanding and outstanding young man giving younger conservatives a voice, having his message/life ended in such a cowardly manner, should be alarming to anyone who has even one ounce of humanity. All you people who think killing their so-called political enemies is acceptable, better go take a hard look at your soul.

Charlie Kirk spoke an important message, and this act is barbaric and hitting below the belt. We have free speech, and anyone who agrees that killing someone because of a difference in ideology needs help. A lot of help!!

Yes, I am angered!!!! A young father with a wife and two children was killed in cold blood because he is conservative, which shows just how desperate some people are to shut down opposing opinions rather than making a good, logical, and sensible counterargument for their beliefs. This is NOT ok. I am completely heartbroken 💔 and disappointed. 🙏✝️🧎🏽‍♀️😭”

RIP Charlie. I am praying for your beautiful family. None of you deserved this. ♥️🇺🇸💙

September 13, 2025: “We have been pushed beyond our emotional capacity and are deeply grieved. We are angry and grieving, but we aren’t violent, no matter what.

We aren’t “them.” We didn’t take to the streets. We didn’t burn and loot. We didn’t promote hate. We didn’t injure or kill. We pray and love more. We have prayer vigils and honor a grieving family and an innocent life lost. We are different.

Our voice for God will amplify and expand. We will continue to openly battle evil. Our hearts will remain good. Our hope and love will spread even more. We are not them. We are not of this world. We still believe in promoting good and leaning on God. We are not them… We belong to Him! ✝️🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏼💜”

September 12, 2025: “Dear God, as I settle down to pray and rest tonight, I want to thank you. I thank you for the deeply rooted love, compassion, caring, sympathy, and empathy you put in my heart.

Without you, I might be cruel, cold, and heartless like many I am witnessing around me. I might be of questionable morals and be contradicting my own stated values, like others I am witnessing.

I thank you for holding me to a higher standard and blessing me with so much that my cup does indeed runneth over. Because of you, I am a better person.

Someone tried to tell me I have been fooled by following your example and loving guidance. That I am brainwashed. Oh Lord, the true freedom of thought and action you have bestowed upon me has freed, not bound me. Thank you.

I pray for the blind, the deaf, and those living only for their own selfish pleasures. For without you, Lord, I would be one of them, and it would never have made me truly happy and joyful. Joy comes from knowing you. Amen. Lisa ><>”

As I have preached over and over, being GROUNDED in the WORD of God means you can act instead of react. You can please Him even in your darkest moments. You can make yourself pleasing in the sight of God even when you are mad, sad, and even enraged. We are humans, and we all have feelings. What makes us inhumane is when we act out our feelings in a manner that offends God and hurts others. May you be blessed with peace during times of turmoil, and ALWAYS let God’s voice be heard loud and clear over the “noise” of this world. Amen. ><>
